Biological activity:
Hecogenin is a steroid saponin isolated from Agavesisalana and is a selective inhibitor of human UDP-glucuronyl glycosyltransferase. Hecogenin has a broad range of pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antifungal and gastroprotective effects.

Raw materials for corticosteroid drugs such as betamethasone and dexamethasone.
